Paris heat vents! began during my first trip to Paris in the fall of 2024

On my first evening, I learned about the heat vents scattered across the city
Warm air rising through grates where homeless people sleep on cold, wet nights

Later, after a heavy rain, we passed the Panthéon
The pavement was slick

Blankets, dark and soaked
Rose and fell gently over shapes I could barely distinguish
The warmth smelled like exhaust

This sketchbook gathers the small scenes and quiet thoughts from that visit
Scenes and thoughts that I hope will always stay with me
